5 Best Hybrid Golf Bags (2024)
By: Brera | Last Updated: February 17, 2024
Historically, buying a particular golf bag would depend on if you walked the course or rode in a cart. If you walked, you’d buy a stand (or “carry”) golf bag. If you rode, you’d buy a cart golf bag. These days, the hybrid golf bag lets you have the best of both worlds in one bag. In this guide, I review and rank 5 hybrid golf bags so that you can make the best decision when purchasing your next hybrid golf bag.

What is a Hybrid Golf Bag?
A hybrid golf bag combines the features of a stand bag and a cart bag. Traditionally, golf bags were designed for a particular purpose, such as riding in a cart or walking the course. With the advent of the hybrid golf bag, we get the best of both worlds and can buy a single bag for days when we ride or days when we walk.
What are Hybrid Bag characteristics?
The options when buying a golf bag can be overwhelming. Traditionally, if you walked all 18 holes, you’d want a stand or carry bag, because the bags are light weight, typically have duals straps and extra padding for your hip/back when carrying the bag on your back, and have leg stands to make picking up/dropping off your bag easier. However, if you rode in a cart, you’d typically want a cart bag because it was designed to fit on the back of a golf cart, strap in securely, and have plenty of pockets for storage. Cart bags are heavier due in part to more pockets and typically the bags are made of different (i.e., heavier) material. Cart bags also do not have a stand mechanism.
Hybrid bags are crossover bags in that they combine the features of both stand bags and cart bags.
Typical Features of a Hybrid Golf Bag
- Dual straps (for days you want to carry)
- Stand mechanism
- Cart strap tunnel (for days you want to ride)
- Lightweight
Who Should Buy a Hybrid Golf Bag?
A hybrid golf bag is perfect for those that like the option to walk, push a cart, or ride. The versatility of a hybrid golf bag is perfect for a golfer that likes options.
We all know there are various factors that determine whether we want to walk a ride the course on a particular day, including time of day, weather, golf course conditions, and overall personal mood. The hybrid bag accounts for all those factors with its versatility.
A hybrid bag is also perfect for the golfer who may spend time at the range but then prefer to ride once they are ready to play their round.

The Titleist Hybrid 14 Stand Bag is all-around the perfect hybrid bag. The versatility, premium features, build construction, and looks make this our favorite hybrid bag.
Functionally, while all hybrid bags allow you to carry or strap in and ride, Titleist went a step further with adding a push cart rest. This attention to detail really speaks to the versatility of this bag. The bag has a cart strap tunnel so that you can better secure your bag when using a cart. As the name suggests, the “Hybrid 14” has 14 full-length dividers which allow for easy access and organization of all your golf clubs.
The build quality and design confirm that Titleist is one of the most reputable golf brands that make quality golf bags that will last for years. The bag is lightweight weighing in at 6.1 pounds and designed with function in mind. The bag comes in 8 color options.
Personal Experience
Carrying: We love the double strap of this bag because it evens out the weight distribution between shoulders. The double strap’s padding is perfect thickness, along with the hip/back padding (on side of bag) to provide extra comfort while walking. The aluminum stand legs feel sturdy and well-built.
Cart: When strapped onto a cart, the legs are secured with a velcro strap rather than an elastic rope (which I prefer and feels more secure). The cart strap tunnel is perfectly placed for quick ease in strapping to a cart.

Personal Experience
Carrying: The dual shoulder straps are comfortable with the right amount of padding. The stand legs are wide-profile that ensures maximum stability when your bag is fully loaded.
Cart: The dual shoulder straps have quick release clips so the straps can be easily removed and stored away in the large apparel pocket while riding. The Sun Mountain C-130S Stand Bag is a crossover hybrid bag. The C-130 cart bag has forever been popular amongst golfers and now Sun Mountain has adapted that bag to a hybrid with a stand system. The C-130S has 15 full length dividers, along with 9 forward-facing pockets (which allow easy access when on a cart).
While most hybrid bags have just one cart strap tunnel, the C-130S has two, making for a more secured ride. The dual cart strap tunnel is possible because because the C-130S is a single strap bag and therefore does not have back padding on one side of the bag (like a dual strap bag would have).
With a single strap, this bag is designed for someone that will primarily ride when on the course but also likes to go to the range. The C-130S is also a little heavier than some of the other hybrid bags on this list, which supports that this bag is better suited for someone that primarily rides. The bag is available in 5 colors.
Personal Experience
Carrying: As mentioned, the C-130S is a single strap bag, and therefore is not the most comfortable if having to walk for a full round. Being a single strap, there is no hip/back padding on the side of the bag (as there would be with a dual strap) so buyers should keep this in mind if considering this bag.
Cart: This bag comfortably straps onto a cart, with legs secured to the bag with an elastic rope. The dual cart strap tunnel is a nice feature and there is also a quick release for the strap, making it easy to remove the strap when on a cart.

If your number one priority is keeping all of your beverages cool throughout the round, the Bag Boy Chiller Hybrid is the bag for you. The Chiller Hybrid features a removable insulated cooler that can hold four 12 ounce cans.
With 10 total pockets, including 2 large garment pockets and one valuables fleece-lined pocket, the Bag Boy Chiller has more than enough storage for your round.
The bag also features TOP-LOK Technology, which helps prevent twisting and turning when the bag is attached to a Bag Boy push cart.
While there is only one strap, the bag has hip/back padding to help support and provide comfort while carrying. This a feature that typically is only seen on dual strap bags. The bag is available in 6 colors.
Personal Experience
Carrying: The Chiller Hybrid only has a single shoulder strap, making it not so ideal if you have to carry for 18 holes. However, the single strap is well padded and the bag has a hip/back pad, which is a nice feature on a single strap bag to make the carrying experience more comfortable.
Cart: The Chiller Hybrid has a hidden cart strap sleeve which ensures the bag’s single strap does not get in the way when strapped onto a cart. When strapped to a cart, the bag legs can be secured to the bag with a velcro strap. This is the one hybrid bag on our list that does not have a cart strap tunnel.

The Go Lite Hybrid features TOP-LOK technology, which helps prevent twisting and turning when the bag is attached to a Bag Boy push cart.
The Go Lite bag is lightweight due in part to having less storage and pockets than other bags on this list. The Go Lite bag only has 6 pockets, so it may not be the best choice for someone that likes to carry a lot of items in their bag.
Personal Experience
Carrying: Go Lite’s lightweight design and double shoulder strap make walking with this bag comfortable and ideal for walkers. However, the hip/back pad on the side of the bag could have a little more padding. The stand seems sturdy, even with its lightweight design.
Cart: The TOP-LOK technology is a great feature for those that like to use a push cart. One downside when strapping to a golf cart is that there is not cart strap tunnel to more fully secure the bag, which a lot of other hybrid bags have.
